I am an artist living in Penang, Malaysia. My paintings have been exhibited in Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Sabah, and Japan. My work has been exhibited in many group exhibitions in both galleries and museums. Recently I have my first solo art exhibition at Galeri Seni Mutiara, Penang, Malaysia.
Artist’s Statement
A few years ago, I lost a friend, a friend full of life and passionate about travelling. The incident awakened me to the uncertainly of life and reminded me of the gift which God has bestowed upon me i.e God has blessed me with artistic talent. I have not taken it seriously. However, now I have learnt to appreciate it. I have look around and re-discovered the daily objects in life which I have taken for granted, the beauty around me which I have not noticed before. Now I look at them with different perspectives which in turn become the source of my inspiration. I have started to paint what I see and how I feel about the objects around me. Through the pieces of painting which I have produced for my first solo, may it be still life or nature; I hope we can all appreciate the “life” & “gift” God has given us. We should not take them for granted. Nature and mankind are one; we depend on each other to survive.
